MATTER is excited to announce the election of Chipo Mtasa to the MATTER Board of Directors. Chipo is the Managing Director of TelOne, one of the largest telecommunication entities in Zimbabwe. Her selection to the board reflects MATTER’s continued efforts to expand and deepen partner relationships in Africa.
Casey Carl, MATTER Board Chair, expressed the board’s enthusiasm to welcome Chipo as a fellow Director.
“We are excited Chipo is joining the MATTER board. As we continue to further strengthen our international relationships and execute against our strategy, having a highly-qualified board member from Africa will infuse valuable in-country and continent-wide insights into our efforts.”
As a leading businesswoman in Zimbabwe, Chipo brings extensive experience in executive leadership and management. Prior to heading TelOne, Chipo was Group Chief Executive of Rainbow Tourism Group (RTG), from October 2004 to March 2012. RTG is the second largest hospitality company in Zimbabwe and is listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange.
Chipo holds BACC (Hons) from the University of Zimbabwe and is a qualified Chartered Accountant (Zimbabwe). She also holds an Executive Management Development Certificate from Wharton Business School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Having witnessed MATTER’s impact through hospital renovation and farm projects in her own country, Chipo is eager to be a guiding voice in MATTER’s mission throughout the world.
“I am honored to join MATTER’s board and am looking forward to contributing to MATTER’s life changing work in Africa and around the world.”
